The Professional Women in Building Chapter of the Magic Valley Builders Association empowers and elevates women across all lanes of the building industry through representation, education, and meaningful connection. We provide a safe, encouraging space for networking, mentorship, and community impact—especially for the youth who represent our industry’s future.

Elizabeth Karel
President
Elizabeth Karel is the Estimator at Meg & Co Designer Homes, where she manages the full estimating process and brings detailed expertise to each unique residential project. With a strong foundation in both residential and commercial construction, Elizabeth plays a key role in supporting efficient, well-coordinated project execution. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Operations Management from the College of Southern Idaho and is currently pursuing a graduate degree through Boise State University, further strengthening her leadership and business acumen within the building industry. Elizabeth is passionate about construction and is especially focused on building strong, collaborative relationships with subcontractors and trade partners. Through her involvement with Professional Women in Building, she actively supports and advocates for women in the industry, believing deeply in the value of mentorship, community involvement, and professional connection. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs, playing recreational sports, and unwinding by cooking a great meal.
Sonya Haines
Vice President
Sonya Haines is the South-Central Idaho STEM Hub Coordinator for the Idaho STEM Ecosystem under the University of Idaho Extension, where she leads cross-sector collaborations to align education with real-world career pathways and strengthen community-driven workforce development. Raised off the grid and homeschooled in Salmon, Idaho, she developed a deep appreciation for sustainability, problem-solving, and hands-on learning—values that continue to shape her work in STEM education, community outreach, and building authentic connections between people and opportunity. Sonya is passionate about collective impact and building strong, resilient communities by uniting industry, education, and community partners to expand access to meaningful learning experiences for students of all ages, empower educators, and prepare individuals for future-ready careers—ensuring every Idahoan has the skills, support, and opportunity to thrive in both rural and tech-driven environments.
Jacy Pool

Meet Jacy Pool, Branch Manager and Loan Officer at Premier Mortgage Resources. With 9 years of experience in the industry, Jacy is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their homeownership dreams. When she's not assisting clients, Jacy enjoys spending time outdoors with her four kids and Husband, taking advantage of the beautiful Idaho scenery. Born and raised in Idaho, Jacy is passionate about creating a stronger community for our daughters and believes in uplifting women. Her commitment to empowering others shines through in her work and interactions.
Carissa Foote

Carissa Foote is an Area Sales Executive with TitleOne serving the community throughout the Magic Valley. She has immersed herself in customer service, sales, and sales management over the last 15 years. Carissa takes pride in providing value to others through industry education, community events, or even just a helping hand with day-to-day projects. In her free time, you can find Carissa spending time with her two daughters and husband. She enjoys camping, golfing, trying new restaurants, and is even a self-proclaimed foodie
